Crossroads bring people together. Crossroads take us from “here” to “there.” Crossroads provide us with places to share moments, breathe in a little bit of this life together, and pause just long enough to make those decisions that could mean the difference between “getting there” or not.
Who We Are
WE are the LGBTQ Center of Durham, a safe and inclusive community committed to supporting and celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer identified people in and around Durham:
- Through programming, resources, and networks of support
- By acting as a hub for Durham’s LGBTQ community
- By sharing and affirming all LGBTQ lived experiences.
What We Need
The most frequently asked question about the LGBTQ Center of Durham is, “Where are you going to be located?” To answer that question we need a firm financial footing to be able to secure a 2 year lease. We need to have a space that is visible and accessible.
With a physical space, we will become a hub for LGBTQ life in Durham and nearby communities.
Sitting on solid financial ground, we’ll focus our energies on creating programs suited to the needs of the community and building networks and resources that will make LGBTQ life in Durham the best it can be!
What Will It Take?
To be the crossroads with a physical space, the Center needs to raise $73,169. We’re all in this together. Together WE ARE the LGBTQ Center of Durham.
How Will We Get There?
We all come to this crossroads from different places.
If there’s one thing Durhamites and surrounding communities do well and do often, it’s rally behind the causes we hold dear.
